Textbook 4-Color (T4C), Before and After For over 30 years Houchen Bindery, Ltd. has been known by school districts across the United States as the premier supplier of rebound textbooks. As district budgets come under increasing pressures, it is more apparent than ever that a rebind charge saves the district the huge investment of a new replacement textbook.
Each book is rebound, trimmed when possible, and recovered with a durable coverstock. These bindings outperform the publishers' bindings, making rebinding an excellent investment. Many districts purposely purchase paperback copies of texts and have them rebound before they attempt to circulate them to students. This will usually result in substantial savings, as the cost of the paperback plus our rebinding is much lower than the publisher’s hard cover price.
Our summer team is highly motivated to serve our customers' every request. It is a daunting challenge, as often they cannot rely on any further instruction or clarification from the customer, since many of them send the books and take the remainder of the summer off. With the short amount of time allowed, the variations in instructions and counts, it would seem to many to be an impossible task. However, the Houchen team has the answer as each summer they receive an increasing amount of books.
Prices vary by location and quantity. We remind our districts that since prices are set in May or early June, any textbooks that need rebinding, and become available to bind during the school year should be sent at that time. The district will save the new price differential, and the bindery will have reduced its summer load.
Please contact us early to ensure that your books can be picked up by one of our many company trucks on their regular routes. Most locations within the following states are served at least once per month- Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
Some locations not served by our vehicles need to arrange UPS or common carrier. Please include a Houchen count sheet which is a count of the number of books in the order and is sent with the books. Download a Houchen count sheet by clicking the link below.
