TEXTBOOK PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS

Rebinding is still the best way to get the most out of your school district’s budget.  We are always striving to serve our customers more efficiently.  Following these instructions will help us process your order more efficiently:

  • Please notify us in early April that you are counting on Houchen Bindery Ltd. to rebind your books.  All orders must be received by June 25th to guarantee that they will be returned by the start of school.

  • Depending on location, you may be asked to ship orders of less than 100 books.

  • Textbooks will be “metal stitched” or glue bound with our state of the art Ultrabind.  All plain covers will have printing on the spine.  We now offer T4C (Reproduced color copy of the original covers), which are more durable and attractive.  Our policy is to use the T4C covers when there are 5 or more books of the same title. Note: Depending on volume and availability, this may be subject to change to 10 or more without notice. This applies to textbooks and soft cover paperbacks.

  • If a textbook has been rebound before, check to be sure ½” to 1” margin is available on the bound (left) side and outer (right) side of the book.  Some books may be returned if they are not suitable to rebind.

  • Pack textbooks in boxes less than 50 pounds.  If you can’t lift it, we can’t either.

Boxes must be accompanied by a list of titles, total number of books sent, and a purchase order.  Please let us know if you need boxes.  No computer monitor boxes are allowed.

  • Please have a separate purchase order for textbooks and library books.  Have paperwork enclosed in one of the boxes, and indicate PO Enclosed on top of box.

  • Mark on top of boxes the total number of boxes being sent, school and district name and number.

Please be patient with the delivery of your school library books.  We begin rebinding library books after all of the textbooks are returned.  For a quicker turn around on your library books, consider sending them in during the school year.  This will ensure you a 30 day turn around on your order.
