These unique book covers feature
original art created by students in school, library, or museum
classes. Students can be encouraged to read the book first and
then illustrate the cover. Great for older students as
advertising, marketing, or lettering projects. Illustration
contests, perhaps even with the involvement of a children's book
company are among the many other possibilities for this product.

Guidelines
1. Using a tape measure, measure the exact length around
the book. Start at the right edge of the front and wrap left
around the spine to the edge of the back cover. Then measure the
height of the cover. Write down this measurement.
2. Add an additional 1 1/2 inches to
the length and 1 1/2 inches to the height. Cut a piece of paper
the size of this second measurement.
3. Create your design, staying 1 3/4
inches from all the edges with any lettering or pictures,
filling with color all the way to the edges of the paper. As for
media, chalk, watercolors, and acrylics have been used
successfully. Be sure to spray chalk with fixative.
4. Letter the spine, using the exact
center of the lengthwise dimension. Be sure to keep lettering
small and print vertically if the spine is very narrow. Let the
original cover be your guide.
5. Number the book and back of the
cover you have created. Pack the covers so they do not slide or
bend. Label the box of books that goes with the covers "Artisto
Bind".
